The benefits of buying pre-owned

A large picture of a Patek Philippe watch with a white dial. Why you should consider buying pre-owned watches.

Purchasing an item that was previously owned can save you a lot of money while still retaining value and equity. As you know, there are endless opportunities to find what you are looking for in the global marketplace, whether it’s a modern luxury vehicle, a museum-grade antiquity, or something as simple as a cellphone, you can find anything your heart desires if you know where to look. If you’re searching for unique gift ideas or you need something for yourself, you’ll find a small list of tips, tricks, and places to shop below. Learn about the benefits of buying pre-owned.

Check out Amazon

Amazon has a huge selection of pre-owned items with exceptionally low prices. Some of these items may have needed a repair, had a minor blemish, had damaged packaging and could not be sold as “new”, or someone ordered it by accident, etc. You can find a lot of great deals while paying about half the price of a brand new one. And most importantly, it still comes with a warranty.

I recently purchased a refurbished webcam, when the package arrived and I opened the box I could tell immediately that it was brand new and never used. There was not one blemish, one fingerprint, or anything that would suggest it was refurbished or used multiple times and then returned. It had all of the original paperwork and accessories, and it still had the protective plastic covering on the lens. It was an excellent purchase and I paid 60% less than a brand new one! Buying a used/pre-owned vehicle

There are several benefits to purchasing a used vehicle, and since there are so many places to find one, I’ll provide some professional tips and let you decide where to go. First of all, never purchase a used vehicle that was once a rental car. I know these vehicles may look great and come with a limited warranty from the seller or have a remaining duration of the manufacturer’s warranty but that is not a selling point for me to consider and here’s why. Normally rental vehicles are abused in every possible way. There can be excessive wear and tear on the engine, transmission, steering and suspension components, and may have incurred improper maintenance and other related issues because most people don’t care about rentals nor does the staff that were once responsible for them.

For this reason, I recommend going to the dealership when considering a used/pre-owned vehicle, and here’s why…

First, the vehicles receive a full inspection by a factory trained technician who are well acquainted with each vehicle. Keep in mind, if you want to buy a Ford, make sure you go to a “Ford dealership”, don’t expect a Kia dealership to know anything about a Ford in their used car lot.

Second, the dealership will have access to the vehicle’s national service history and usually have additional knowledge of how well the vehicle was maintained.

Third, the sales department can provide a certified pre-owned warranty that is an extension of the original manufacturer’s warranty. This is a very important benefit to consider!
