Can you think of a time when something was so difficult you just wanted to quit, but you didn’t? In those moments, what helped you press on? For followers of Jesus, the encouragement to don’t give up comes with a powerful promise: we’re not relying on our strength alone, God is our refuge and strength.
God Is a Very Present Help
Psalm 46:1 reminds us, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Not an occasional presence, not a distant helper… a very present help. That means right here, right now, God is near and ready to support you through whatever you’re facing.
Learning from Asa’s Example
In 2 Chronicles 15, King Asa of Judah faced immense pressure. After years of idolatry and warfare, he tried to lead his people back to God. It wasn’t easy. But God sent a message through the prophet Azariah:
“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” — 2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)
God didn’t dismiss Asa’s struggles. He acknowledged them and offered strength. The same promise is extended to you today.
Encouragement for Today
What burdens are you carrying? Maybe it’s financial stress, a strained relationship, or uncertainty at work. Whatever it is, you don’t have to face it alone. God sees you, knows your struggle, and invites you to draw from His strength.
Just as Asa found encouragement and kept going, so can you. The key is staying close to God and continuing to make the next right choice, no matter how difficult the moment may feel.
The Reward Is Coming… Don’t Give Up!
Success isn’t about perfection, it’s about perseverance. A successful life is built one faithful decision at a time. Don’t let fear, fatigue, or frustration derail you. Keep going. Keep trusting. The reward is coming.
