Ten years ago I discovered clean-comedy. Initially I did not know what it was or if it would actually be funny. It turns out that there are so many gifted comedians in the world who are capable of sharing a great joke without being perverted and using curse words to make someone laugh. Of course, certain jokes that are slightly perverted and have profanity can still be funny, I’ve just made a decision not to fill my mind with that style of comedy.
In fact, since I’ve made a point to only watch clean-comedy videos, I have noticed that my thoughts are more positive and I’m overall more optimistic. I suppose that shouldn’t come as a surprise given the fact that many comedians that have crude and vulgar speech in their script often live reckless, unsatisfying lives that contaminates their content.
I’ve observed a theme among such comedians: they usually have social issues, are alcoholics, narcissistic, depressed, and usually don’t have a healthy outlook on life. They may be really nice people and fun to hang out with, but they do not make great role models and it might not be wise to give your attention to what they have to say. Which reminds me of an old proverb: “bad company corrupts good morals.”
