I’ve been a car guy for many years and I’ve had the privilege of owning many nice cars and each one of them was cared for exceptionally. I personally maintained their interior, exterior, scheduled maintenance and repairs. I know it’s not common that you would encounter a meticulous-master automotive technician that knows how to professionally detail cars, but if you can relate to me I believe you’ll trust my experience. Today you will learn to protect your paint.
All of my vehicles were joyfully driven on the highway and because of that I knew I would continue to see little chips in the paint of the front bumper or clear coat damage from bugs over time. Usually at the halfway point of ownership I would have it repainted and it looked brand new again. But after owning many cars and going through this cycle I felt there had to be a better way of protecting the paint and saving myself some money.
One day I was at the Porsche dealership and was checking out this beautiful GT3 RS that had every cool option you could imagine. I spent almost an hour admiring every little design detail from top to bottom and I noticed the whole car was covered with clear paint protection. It’s a brilliant idea so I thought to myself, “Why not do that to the next car I buy”… So I did!
The paint protection journey
A year later I ended up purchasing a new car and my first priority was not to drive it anywhere until I had the clear paint protection installed.
I began doing some research, called around to a few local places, got some quotes, and made a decision. For the current car I own I didn’t think it was worth having it completely covered so I opted just to have the whole front portion done in addition to the emblem, mirrors, and headlight lenses. If you’ve ever owned a car and noticed how the headlight lenses get chipped from road debris and turn yellow from sun exposure you’ll definitely appreciate getting those covered too!
So, it’s been two years now and I definitely have no regrets! With all of the highway driving I’ve done my car still looks brand new and I’ll never have to worry about having it repainted. If you currently own a brand new car, plan on getting one soon or just feel now is the time to have your car protected, I’d say go for it!
I wish I’d done this years ago!

Pro Tip: When searching for a dealer/installer visit their shop and take a look around before you agree to having any work performed. If their shop does not have a sealed off area specifically designed to install this product then look for another shop. If the installation does not take place in an environment free of large airborne particles and debris then you can expect to have those impregnated between the clearcoat and the PPF (Paint Protection Film) which is certainly noticeable and not covered by the warranty.
After you find a shop and agree on a price make sure to do this: On the day you pick up your vehicle, don’t sign any paper work until you closely examine every area where they installed the film and do this on a sunny day. If something is not right leave the vehicle with them so they can get everything right the first time.
