C.S. Lewis is one of the most prolific and influential writers of the twentieth century. He was a prominent figure among his colleagues and students at both Oxford and Cambridge University and left a literary legacy for millions of readers across the globe. He lived a peaceful life, enjoyed academia, pursued his passions, and found fulfillment in unexpected places. His journey was unique as his life often circled around important truths and sometimes landed onto unrecognizable blessings. Mr. Lewis shared his gifts with the world and found his calling in life. His bravery and courage consistently propelled him into important roles where he could make an impact and encourage others to consider their own potential.

Clive Staples Lewis was born in Belfast, Ireland in 1898. His childhood was filled with sorrow as his mother passed away of cancer just before his tenth birthday. From that moment on he turned his back on God and became a militant atheist. He was a very angry and confused young man for many years. But after a while something began to change in his heart.

How did he accomplish so much?

As time passed this highly intelligent man wrote more than forty books. Some of those books included: “The Chronicles of Narnia”, “The Screwtape Letters”, and “Mere Christianity”. In addition to writing excellent literary pieces he also achieved many noteworthy accomplishments throughout his life. How can someone who was so broken and angry achieve so much and discover a life worth living? He found what many people have, a genuine faith. We can learn a lot from C.S. Lewis while being reminded that in our darkest time in life, God can still show up and turn our brokenness into a life of passion and purpose for others to see.
